I am getting a 400dv iMac ready for my in-laws. They are new to computers (they have been using an email/internet device called i-Opener for a few years) and want to expand. BUT, they are very leary of something too complicated. They want to pretty much surf the web, email (and open sound and image attachments), write letters and work crosswords.
I am planning on installing OS 10.2.8 and 9.2 (I have the disks to give them). What would be the easiest program(s) to use to write letters and open some jpeg's. And maybe send a few photos from a digital camera. I am considering Appleworks, iPhoto or Word and PhotoDeluxe.
Eventually my father in-law wants to convert his cassettes to cd ( while he was visiting me he was going like gangbusters on my G3. I was using OS 9.2 and SoundEdit, is there an easier/better solution for him?
Simple is better. I was even thinking about trying to create some AppleScripts (or QuickKeys actions) so they could just click and "whoop" there they are.
Any other suggestions or advice would be appreciated.
Thanks, Mark
