I too find that AppleWorks 6 does not open Word documents from Windows machines. Am I missing something? I don't own MacLinkPlus Deluxe but have used previous MacLink Plus programs with success (except for graphics, but that's normal).
My guess with the AW not opening a Word doc from a windooze box, is a version issue. Everyone in our company is a windooze user except me. AW did great until last year when some of our people started using the latest version of Word. Once I updated to Apple's free AW6.2.9 version that problem went away.

FWIW MacLinkPlus has to be one of the most useful utilities around. Between it, and Gerhard Lemke's Garphic Convertor, there's no file I've run across I can't open. Including some ancient AmiPro stuff. <G>
