My iMac, G3, 400 with 512 Megs and 60,000 Gigs is throwing up type 3 
errors
at me daily when I'm using OS 9.2.6.
It's difficult to know where to start with troubleshooting because:
1. "60,000 gigs"? Do you mean 60 Gigs?
2. There's no such thing as 9.2.6. The last version of OS 9 was 9.2.2.
   I can get it going again with a
restart, but I can't understand why I'm suddenly getting blitzed with 
these
type 3 (memory) errors when I have memory to burn on this machine.

Well, part of the problem is that in OS 9, applications do not 
automatically adjust to added RAM. You have to manually increase the 
RAM allocation of each app.

However, from your description I don't think that's the problem. Did 
you recently add RAM? If so, I'd say you have some bad RAM there. How 
much free hard drive space do you have?

I've run Disk Warrior 3.0, rebuilt the desk top and even ran DFA, but 
with
no apparent improvement.

All very smart moves, even if they don't solve the problem -- but 
what's DFA?

I get the impression from your note that things USED to work fine, and 
that this problem is relatively recent. Have you installed any programs 
that run in the background? Tons of fonts lately? Added RAM lately? 
IOW, what changed?
