 --------------------------
Hi Charles. I should have shown it as OS 9.2.2 - got carried away there.
And the problems occur when I boot up in OS 9, not working in classic. DFA
is Disk First Aid.
And youre right again, its 60 gigs, not 60,000 - guess that sub-
consciously i just like big numbers. As to installations, what seemed to
precipitate this was my desire to find a PDF file for AppleWorks 6. l
looked under the AW6 icon on the HD, but no PDF file. Thinking back, I
thought I had seen one when I first installed AW6 about a year ago (I
finally took the leap from AW5). But when I checked the AW6 install disk, no
PDF file. It was after much jazzing around looking for the PDF that the
problem materialized. Coincidence? (See more below.) Zippy

-----------------------------------
No, I havent been operating in OS X, just OS 9. My comments above were in
response to an inquiry as to whether I had the test disk, and I did get one,
but
only when I upgraded OSX from 10.1.5 to 10.2. Ive never messed with a test
disk, believing its for technicians rather than the confused masses like
myself.
>From what you say, though, it would appear to be worth investigating.

BTW, in a further effort to solve the error message problem, I reinstalled
OS 9.2.2. Since doing it, I havent had a reoccurence (fingers crossed) and
hope that will take care of it. BUT, after the reinstall Ive noticed a
couple of side effects. One, that the size of the screen is smaller by
about a quarter inch on all sides, and two, when the cursor gets to the
bottom portion of the screen, I get a vertical multicolored streak that
follows the cursor as long as it stays at the bottom of the screen. Also,
while the cursor will not go beyond the top or left hand parts of the screen
(it just hangs up there), the cursor will disappear into the black border at
the bottom and right hand sides. Plus I also get the streak when the
cursors at the bottom. Something weird going on here.

Could this be an indication of more problems to come?

Thanks for any feedback. Zippy
