Next time the mouse stops working, unplug it then plug it back in. If
that fixes is, see what other USB devices are plugged in. Something could
be conflicting with it. Or you could have a bad mouse. I had a very
similar problem where the mouse would stop working and in the end it was
just a bad mouse.


I know of another person who also had the same problem and it was fixed
by replacing the mouse. So its possible that might be all yours is as
well.

Thanks for suggestions, but I highly doubt it... I explained the problem before on this list. The pointer still moves. The clicks still work, but they're not registered properly. Plugging/replugging/replacing USB devices does not change in anything. Plus, the same mouse works perfectly on a PC. My hunch is that it's a software issue, something with window manager maybe?
