We use Declude JunkMail for SPAM detection and
are very pleased with it. These are the main
pluses we have seen in Declude Junkmail:

1. Very tight integration with Imail. Installs on
your existing Imail server in less than five minutes.

2. Good performance. Our average CPU loads have
not increased significantly since adding Declude.

3. Many options of what to filter (RBL, RSS, DUL,
ORBS, ...) and what to do with it (log, add a line
to the message header, subject, body, ...).

4. The author (R.Scott Perry, an active member of
this list) supports it very well and is open to
suggestions to make the product better.

IMGate allows you to offload SMTP and SPAM detection
to another server and is based on open source. Yet
our Imail server had enough idle capacity that the
offloading was not an issue. We may consider moving
outgoing mail (SMTP) to another server in a few
months but that decision is separate from the Spam
detection. The open source is not important to us
as long as the product works well and is well
supported; we really don't have the time or desire
to modify mail server or spam detection code (Imail
itselt is not open source).

Subject: [IMail Forum] Product Compare Declude/ImGate

Hello everyone,

I'm in the process of comparing several anti-spam products that work with
Imail. They are ImGate and Declude. I know ImGate needs another server and
Declude does not. Does anyone have any experience with Declude and how do
you like it.

I don't know if we are ready to purchase a server just for Anti-Spam
blocking.
