We also use MegaPOP, but those users aren't having problems. It seems to
be only those connecting directly to our chassis. And, by far, not all
of our users - just a handful right now, but the number seems to be
growing. We had about 15 voicemails over the weekend from different
users experiencing this problem.

Are these clients connecting via a POP that you own or are they
connecting
using another ISP? It has the symptons of port 25 blocking. If these
clients are connecting via another ISP, they will have to use that ISP's
SMTP.

Subject: [IMail Forum] Timeouts with SMTP for users
Having an increasing number of users (mostly dial-up) that are receiving
mail fine, but having problems sending mail. Getting timeouts. Called
Ipswich last week and they suggested increasing the timeout period on
the client. We have tried this and it does not seem to help - just
increases the time before the timeout error is reported to the user.
This is with 6.06 with the latest path for SMTP AUTH applied. The
problem does seem to have some up since updating from 6.05. Applied the
6.06 path and then the SMTP AUTH patch at the same time - so would
appear that one is at least partially at fault.
Anyone else seeing this behavior?
