Roger,

MTU should not be protocol specific, except that it is for TCPIP, so it
would seem that means other include protocols like SMTP, POP3, HTTP that use
TCPIP. Sorry, I don't know what or if any IMail timeouts are specific to the
protocols used or if they are of different lengths. HTTP is supposed to be
'stateless' where POP3 and IMAP are not, and IMail does try to remember the
state of the HTTP connections, so it may be possible that has some effect,
but what, I don't know.

I've use HTTP and Web Interface over 28.8 modem from home (direct to our
local network, not via some other provider) and have had success with most
normal attachments. But, I don't recall trying anything much bigger than a
meg or 2. I don't think the version of IMail makes much difference, at least
at this time, but thanks for reminding me you are using V5.
