To make sure that no one on this list gets accused of SPAMming, I suggest that none of us communicate directly with Roger, because it may be considered illegal entry into his system!! In that vain, I'll just use the list to tell him how short-sided and small-minded he is. And Roger could use a good SPAM attack to wake him up!!
I would think that most admins would welcome a dozen SPAM messages relayed through their server to test if they are an open relay, than a 100,000 messages relayed through their server to find out for sure that they are an open relay!! The ORBZ (and other SPAM tests) are standardized messages sent to mail servers of all kinds. If a server cannot handle a specific kind of message (a correctly formed message, at that), then that server should be patched. The bottom line: Your either a part of the problem, or a part of the solution. Roger, you need to decide which you want to be. And quite frankly, if your the problem, then I don't need you on this list anymore! Their statement on the orbz site was that it was the sysadmins problem if it happened even if it damaged the system they were sending. If I have a window that is cracked and in need of repair, and I know it but either haven't gotten around to fixing it or don't want to fix it, and you intentionally throw a snowball at that window and break it, knowing before you threw that snowball that it would break a cracked window.... You would be liable for civil and criminal charges. If you didn't know it could break, it would be hard to press criminal charges but you could still be held for civil charges.
