Scott,

Are you with Declude? I have some questions for someone there. We are
ready to buy the virus protection and spam filtering but I need some
questions answered first. I called Declude last week and left a message for
a return call. I haven't heard back and haven't followed up as I've had a
series of minor crisis since.

The Kill List only lets you enter E-mail addresses (or partial E-mail
addresses), since it only looks at the return address of the E-mail.

The Control Access file, though, will let you enter IPs and IP ranges not
to accept mail from. Of course, if they really have unlimited IPs, you're
going to have a hard time blocking them by adding all the IPs. :)

It sounds like you may be dealing with one of the new high tech "hacker
spammers" that breaks into dozens/hundreds of computers, and instructs them
to send E-mail through thousands of open relays. Those aren't easily dealt
with, but the weighting system in our Declude helps out (which allows you
to receive mail from open relays if you want, while blocking mail with
multiple problems). Also, Message Sniffer ( http://www.sortmonster.com --
it's not our product, but works with Declude and other spam software) does
a good job detecting spam based on the content, which helps out a lot in
these cases.
