Ok, I understand now.
So you'll use Gammadyne to send directly to the recipient's email
address via the recipient's mail server and you have relatively
infrequent but large batches. So the main thing running on this

IMAIL is mainly going to receive incoming and send on to
Gammadyne. The database is on another machine.
So really you don't need a lot of disk. Gammadyne will run
multi-threaded so I think mostly you need a lot of memory and
you're already going dual processor. Memory is maxed and you're
using a refurbished machine.
I don't see problems with that. In fact I think it is pretty good
use of resources.

You will need to add a Message ID header with Gammadyne or you'll

Not necessarily but it could. If you're getting good response
from your ISP's dns even with a lot of threads and you don't care
too much about speed then probably not.
On the other hand it should speed things up with a cache dns
server as close as possible to the Gammadyne especially since it
will make more lookups for direct sending than it would if you
were just sending to one or more smtp servers.
There is a test function on Gammadyne for DNS servers. Fast is
like 10 to 50 milliseconds and anything 100 or less is probably
reasonable.
