cheers for the reply, I already tested the "sub" or "virtuals" forwarding onto smart host (ie. the respective mail host on the Imail box) the relay issue was purtaining to the local IIS mail host. I want to lock this down so that mail sent to <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> or <"anybody%remotedomain.com">@local_IP does not pass through the SMTP gateway. Do you know if this is possible?

Example, if you have a sub virtual example.com and IIS receives a e-mail addressed to [EMAIL PROTECTED], it is not going to deliver it to remotedomain.com, but rather will send it to the smart host it is configured to use, that being for example.com. It is then up to the server at example.com to take action.
