In case anyone's curious, I think I may have solved this irritation...... When asked if they had AV running, all the ones with problems said NAV 2003, well, that doesn't usually alter logins, so I was finally able to convince one person to bring the machine in to be looked at, as it booted, I caught the problem....
FREEDOM!!!!! That program has done more to hose up machines I've worked on than anything. Once that was REMOVED all worked as it should. The thing is, I asked if they had Freedom running on the machine, and they said no....... But I believe it's fixed now. Hooray!
