Patrick,

With all the information you sent, and with all due respect, I still cannot see where
"dexter" came into play:

> Received: from server1.advantex-internal.net [170.215.208.51] by list.ipswitch.com
> with ESMTP

This is our internal mail server on our office LAN, an MS Exchange 2000 box with
POPCon, picking up mail from deedee.advantex.net (our primary iMail server - NOTE THE
DIFFERENCE IN THE DOMAIN NAMES) for local delivery to Exchange mailboxes. Nothing to
do with Dexter at all.

> 170-215-208-51.bras01.nor.ny.frontiernet.net.
> [TTL 21600s] [A=170.215.208.51]

This is our office's router address, with a static IP provided by Frontier. Again,
nothing to do with Dexter.

You looked up mx.advantex.net, which should return deedee.advantex.net, which it did.
Bear in mind, MY messages to this list are sent via smtp on
server1.advantex-internal.net, an entirely different domain, and an entirely different
email server platform. This server/IP address is not the blacklisted address in
question.

> Reverse DNS for the above IP:
> 69.59.165.93 PTR record: deedee.advantex.net. [TTL 3600s]
> [A=69.59.165.93]

This is correct.

Someone made a couple of assumptions, somewhere, about which domain is which, simply
based on headers of my email messages to the list, which have little to do with our
live, RR.COM blacklisted, external mail server. If you proceed based on MY message
headers alone, you are likely to become confused -- as you both have.

ANYWAY, the above is now significantly off-topic... my statement still stands -- we've
done everything we can, including checking/verifying DNS, attempting numerous phone
calls through several RoadRunner "support" channels, sending email requests, following
their "instructions" on their spam information page (several times), etc. etc. etc.

The admins (gods?) of the RR.COM domain refuse to offer any sort of response
whatsoever, and that is THEIR problem, and by association, a problem for THEIR
customers. I would be thrilled if we could even receive a response such as "We're
keeping you on our blacklist because of x, y, and z"... then we could take further
action towards resolution. But that is simply not the case.

When they continued to ignore our attempts to remedy the situation, in my view, they
immediately qualified as IGNORANT. I don't claim to know it all (not by any stretch,
compared to the gurus on this list!) but I know what I know, and I know what *I* have
tried to do, in good faith. Until their customers complain, they will remain ignorant
idiots, blocking legitimate mail.

I offered my experience in response to Aaron Clausen's orignial post because I
sympathize with him, and I believe I know the journey upon which he's about to embark,
trying to get RR to listen... hopefully, preparing him in some way for the likely
failure he will experience trying to get their attention in any way.

Disagree? Then prove me wrong -- If anyone on this list HAS been able to get
RoadRunner to "unblock", "whitelist", or even RESPOND in some competent way in the
past 60 days (or more?), I'd love to hear about it... and learn what YOU did to reach
them. They will not answer to us, our datacenter, or their customers.
