We're using iMail to serve our current domain. Our company wants to
implement a gateway for our Blackberry devices (Blackberry Enterprise
Server) which basically will synch the users Blackberry handheld with their
mailbox, contacts, task, calendar, etc. The BES only integrates with
Exchange. At some point we may migrate everyone to Exchange, but until then,
we need iMail to function as is.

The idea is such: Only the users that have Blackberrys will have their accts
migrated to Exchange. Their email will have to go to the Exchange server for
the BES to pick it up and push it to the handheld. Sending email from their
handheld should be just as if it were being sent via their desktop computer.
If the Blackberrys are running through another domain, I'll have to deal
with custom user configurations and (not sure of this but) setting up a
domain for the exchange server to run on locally.

It IS an option, but one that we are trying to avoid if possible. The cost
isn't an issue. I hope I'm being clear. :)

Mike

specific accts

I'm not sure why managing another domain would be difficult; domains are $10
per year or less, and it's just an additional host entry in your DNS
records, right? Register exchange.domain.com with a public IP, make sure it
only accepts mail from your iMail server, and add additional email addresses
to those user accounts on the exchange server that need to receive mail from
the iMail server... unless I'm missing something (which could very well be
true).

Are the two servers in the same location? Can you provide more details on
why you need to do this?
