It's not the log.  It's the creation of the buffer to hold the incoming
message.  When 2 sessions simultaneously try to create or remove their
buffer, they try to write to the same bit of memory at the same time
causing everything to blow up.

If you've got the 045/048 source and a delphi compiler, in
serverwinshoesmtp.pas, find the line

  SessionMsg := tSMTPMsg.Create(Self);

and change to 

  SessionMsg := tSMTPMsg.Create(nil);

It's more obvious under load as the chance that the conflict will happen
is greater.  Alan Fiebig runs over 100k msgs/day and has been running
stable for a few weeks now (He's been the primary test to locate the
problem in the first place - thanks Alan).  I couldn't duplicate it in
my small test environment with 3 machines doing 10 msgs/second each.

There's one more beta tester to sort out then 0.50 gets released.
