Its funny but the whole discussion here is wrong.
Taxonomy is an opinion and its the opinion that changes and not the
taxonomy. Its an art which different people understand differently.
Why this discussion is funny, because:
2.The efloraofindia site lists *Cleome viscosa *as a synonym of* Arivela
viscosa*
   Ref:https://sites.google.com/site/efloraofindia/species/a--
-l/cl/cleomaceae/arivela/cleome-viscosa

NO ITS NOT TRUE ON MY SCREEN. I SEE ARIVELA VISCOA AS SYNONYM OF CLEOME
VISCOSA

3.The Plant List reckons *Arivela viscosa* and *Cleome viscosa *as distinct
from each other*.*
   Ref - http://www.theplantlist.org/tpl1.1/search?q=cleome+viscosa
   Ref - http://www.theplantlist.org/tpl1.1/search?q=cleome+viscosa

NO ITS NOT TRUE, I SEE ARIVELA VISCOA AS SYNONYM OF CLEOME VISCOSA

Yes to me your plant does look like Cleome viscosa L. (Syn: Arivela
viscosa (L.) Raf.).
