The whole point of Wrapster is to distribute other files (ie not MP3s) over
napster. Many of these are executables. It works by "wrapping" a file
(inserting MP3 header & footer). The user then downloads the file and
unwraps it. If you were on a network, allowing users to use napster would
create a virus risk, because they might download Wrapster files and unwrap
them. You can't do it by accident./ All wrapster files generally have the
word wrapster in them, and are reported as being encoded at 32KBps or even
24. If you just play them in Winamp, all you will hear is gibberish. You
would have to unwrap them and then run the executable to run any risk of
virus attack at all.

AFAIK there is no extra risk to being on Napster, ie hackers can't do
anything to you that they couldn't if you weren't running napster. Also,
you can configure how many files each user is permitted to download at once.
Because I am on 56K I set it to one sometimes, quite often zero. Yes, I am
a leech, but I plan to make up for it when I get cable. ;->
