The motif runtime libraries are available for OpenSolaris now as 
'SUNWmfrun'.

At this time, there isn't a direct upgrade path from SXCE -> OpenSolaris 
2009.x.  I don't know if someone is working on that yet or if it is even 
viable.

Out of necessity, the OpenSolaris distribution does not include some 
software that SXCE does because it is not redistributable.  Though a lot 
of that is available, if you register at:

https://pkg.sun.com/register/

...and add the 'extras' publisher/repository to your system.
