Hard to say. One has S7, the other S8, Noone knows the root (or any other
) password so it's tough to login and mount a cd. ;)
But, given that I've tried 2 different computers, and 3 different CDROM
drives, I don't think it's the drive, but stranger thigns have happenned.
Do the machines your trying to install on recognize the cdrom? You can

probe-ide does show the CDROM drive itself yes.
