Preferably we could add something to the interfaces window, like a
"ignore up/down" column of checkboxes. Any ports that have this
checked would operate normally in regards to errors, discards and
all the visual cues (red x, blue x, ants, etc.) - but wouldn't
alarm on up/down or affect the status of the switch.
