----------------------------------------------------------- New Message on Irish Fencing Forum
----------------------------------------------------------- From: insanemisskitty Message 23 in Discussion I don't remember. Why don't you remind us Kitty? Please list off your fencing achievments, any order will be fine. Paul, you know my results because you have been updating the rankings recently, and although I almost gave in to the temptation to put them up here, anyone can go look at the detailed rankings on the IAFF website to know I haven't done too badly, in either foil or epee. In previous years I've managed to captain a winning intervarity team, win the DIT Novice Cup and be part of two winning Trinity Cup teams. I have read a lot of rubbish on these forums, but this comment has to be one of the stupidest ever. Sorry you feel that way. You must be very glad I'm not a coach then! I do it my way, and I just shared that way. I didn't try and force anyone to follow it. I also just repeated what a lot of psychology books state about how the mind works and the body performs in certain situations. I've been trying to pull up references for it on the web, but as what I said was pulling about 3 different theories into one (spotlight theory of attention, the best conditions in which to study for exams and how adrenaline affects performance), I cannot find a relevant link. However, I will take your words into consideration Paul, I'm hoping to get across to the main library and pull a few books on sports psych to refer to about the matter.(my favorite lecturer has just published one). If I find otherwise, you can expect a full apology for being stupid from me ----------------------------------------------------------- To stop getting this e-mail, or change how often it arrives, go to your E-mail Settings. http://groups.msn.com/IrishFencingForum/_emailsettings.msnw Need help?
