----------------------------------------------------------- From: PostpaidPBH Message 22 in Discussion Yes, but there is also the risk of over-focusing. The beneficial time spent doing a certain exercise or drill is quite small. You are always on a piste for a maximumof 3 minutes at a time. Yet some drills can go on for 10-15 minutes. that is not imitating a natural competitive environment. You know what? I have read a lot of rubbish on these forums, but this comment has to be one of the stupidest ever. A typical one-on-one lesson for a competitive fencer will last about 40 minutes. If you saw Valentina Vezzali training with her Maestro for over 3 minutes you would dismiss the two of them as knowing nothing about competitive fencing? Well Owen, I seemed to do *alright* without the new training regime if you remember?! I don't remember. Why don't you remind us Kitty? Please list off your fencing achievments, any order will be fine. ----------------------------------------------------------- To stop getting this e-mail, or change how often it arrives, go to your E-mail Settings. http://groups.msn.com/IrishFencingForum/_emailsettings.msnw Need help?
