+1 for a users list... ...but my goal is really +1 for automated messages going elsewhere.
I don't seek to separate committer vs. adopter discussions. I am fine with that aspect of having a single list - I think that only becomes an issue in very popular projects, and that is not a problem Isis has yet. What I do care about is that we don't have machine generated messages in the discussion list. Having a second list (for auto-generated messages only) is the best way of accomplishing that IMO.
