wouldn't be easier to keep all the original code and just add the
Histogram.. without changing how callbacks are happening for example.. (The
reason why you needed GCs).
just use the original code... make simple changes... add the histogram
(when --verbose).. and it's a lot easier to understand the impact of the
changes.
