I guess it could be heat as I have both cards side by side in the case
but this is a SUPER cooling case (antec with 3 case fans plus the
power supply segregated into the lower part of the case) and my
previous case where I had things working fine was an antec aria (tiny
mini-ATX case with bad cooling).
