Actually, thet fact this page looks beautiful was kind of a joke. I mostly agree with you: content is more important than how it looks. But does this mean how it looks isn't important ? I'm sure you'd say "no, it's important too".
As I understand, you don't think it's a priority, and there are more urgent things. Could you list some of them ? I can only see this servo controller :) We don't sell books, we don't sell anything in the sense of money, but we do sell our own dog food, and I think we're doing this very poorly. This has been confirmed by some users' feedback recently. That's why we need to organize documentation (doing this on jalliblog was a bad idea -- of mine :(), that's why we need to centralize content on a website. And that website needs to be beautiful, it must be pleasant to visit it, so appearance serves content ! Now few more words about JSG to DITA conversion. If JSG is DITAfied (...), we'll be able to put in any books, any webpages, etc... That's mainly why I would like to DITAfy (...) it. The "cerise sur le gâteau" is this nice webpage, that advertises how we write things, how normalized is our work, etc... A buildbot page will follow, as DITA & JAPP pages. This is about development, but it shows users how we develop, with which tools, where we go, etc... This has to be showned on a dedicated website, not just hide on a crappy google code wiki page. Now I understand you'd still like to see this page on GC. I'll look for a way to convert DITA to GC wiki syntax (probably with an intermediary).
