The website couls be a third place. This is why I think it is important to use this list strictly for development and the jallist for use (although they can't be separated that stictly, since compiler issue's have impact on both). Do I understand that the website will also have a community? What would be it's relation to jallist and jallib group? And how do we avoid scattering our community around? > We are in a way, in competition with C and other languages and ATMEL > who seem to be more popular then JALv2. > > These other languages are quite popular, but non of them have a decent > website with all documentation, many tutorials, contributer tools, > etc. (all organized in one place). I wonder what 'other languages' you refer to. But if we see that they are popular without a website, then that's an indication a website is not that important. However, as said before, IMHO it is good to have one place for the jal stuff. Having an other place, next to the many there are already, is a bad thing. And about JAL vs C. C is a long-exsiting standard, available for many (almost all) platforms and (at least) as suitable for the job as Jal is. IMHO JAL survived is the re-write of Kyle and the absence of a gnu C compiler for pic's with a set of libs like jallib. Or to put it an other way: there are (commercial) C compilers for pic's, but somehow jal + jallib provides better support, worth learning a new language. That 'better support' must be our strenght.
