It appears that your proposal is to revert the NNTP code from the modified
version to the Harmeet version, and then reapply selected changes.
If that is your estimate for a fix, I suggest that we vote to defer NNTP
changes for v2.1.1. I do not feel comfortable with that degree of change in
code that is supposed to be shipping.
I also suggest that unless other committers than yourself are willing to
participate in NNTP (or any other protocol), that such protocol by
definition must be moved into an experimental state and disabled by default.
Personally, I am willing to start looking at NNTP, but not until next year.
