I understand where you are coming from, but NNTP isn't core functionality from the James perspective. It's marked as expertimental on the website. I realize that you might be using it avidly (and successfully) but you definately had to make a conscious decision to use software you knew wasn't in perfect, stable condition when you started using James. I really think 2.1 needs to be released, if only for the sake of the sanities of the committers.
