And that was simply the point to which I was alerting Matthew, so that he'd

Yes, there were bugs reported and fixed. That was months ago. There were
no further reports until this week.
Harmeet, if NNTP was a core protocol labeled as stable, (a) we'd have found
the problems long ago and fixed them, and (b) we'd have a show stopper for
the release. As it is, we do have a potential show stopper for the
protocol, but I believe that we're now in agreement to apply the simply
patch we've received, change the flag in config.xml to disabled by default
for v2.1, and focus on making sure that NNTP works properly in v2.1.1 and
future releases. I would like the experimental status removed, but the
protocol handler has to earn it (as will IMAP).

Again, you really must eliminate this aspect of your messages. It is
counter-productive. Regressions will occur. Including in code that you
submit.
