Hi Mitch,
This is just a guess:
C:\Documents and Settings\your name\Application Data\Freedom
Scientific\JAWS\13.0\Settings\enu
is path where files reside.
Perhaps you have a rogue file here that is messing up MS word 2003.
I am using J13, XP pro, word 2003 with no problems.
Another way to get to explore settings is to
go to start menu type p for programs type j for j13 sub menu right arrow
Jaws sub menu right arrow to explore my settings
Maybe there might be a bad MS file here.
If you are unsure you can just move file to a folder so you can just cut and
paste if you are incorrect.
Good luck.
Ann

wow XP you would think that in that operating system things would work
with out any problems I am using windows 7 also and because it's a newer
operating system, how ever we are using an older program one would tend
to think that it would hickup in windows 7. I also had it installed on
my xP laptop and it worked fine. Do you remember what settings you were
using with your previous version of jaws? I would say apply those same
settings to the latest version
