Hi Mitch,
This is just a guess:
C:\Documents and Settings\your name\Application Data\Freedom Scientific\JAWS\13.0\Settings\enu
is path where files reside.
Perhaps you have a rogue file here that is messing up MS word 2003.
I am using J13, XP pro, word 2003 with no problems.
Another way to get to explore settings is to
go to start menu type p for programs type j for j13 sub menu right arrow Jaws sub menu right arrow to explore my settings
Maybe there might be a bad MS file here.

If you are unsure you can just move file to a folder so you can just cut and paste if you are incorrect.

wow XP you would think that in that operating system things would work with out any problems I am using windows 7 also and because it's a newer operating system, how ever we are using an older program one would tend to think that it would hickup in windows 7. I also had it installed on my xP laptop and it worked fine. Do you remember what settings you were using with your previous version of jaws? I would say apply those same settings to the latest version

I to have ms word 2003 as well as latest jaws 13 I just did a test document and it read it fine

Hi all. I just installed jaws 13 and upgraded it to the newest version. I also have ms word 2003 on my pc and now when I go and read a.doc file jaws won't read it. it also won't read it if I type something in to a blank.doc file please help. many thanks. from Mich.
