Hi The first usual suspect is to maximize the Word 2003 window. Also in some release (or releases) of JAWS 13, there was a problem where the JAWS view of the screen was not being automatically refreshed in some applications. You can try to press JAWSKey+escape to refresh the screen to JAWS and then see if it reads. That was supposedly fixed in one of the later releases of JAWS 13, but you never know with some older applications.
