Just thought I'd add that Rick might have forgot to mention is that the
keystroke toggle to turn the wireless on and off is a software shut off,
whereas the actual switch is a hardware shut off that physically shuts down
your wireless signal.
Many laptops and netbooks have this, but there are a few manufacturers that
don't have this on certain models.
If you have a manual available for your laptop, look there first, if the
manual is accessible.
Alternatively, you can try Googling your model number plus the term,
"location of the wireless switch".
I've found many a switch that way. Smiles.
