I have always used alt d and do the same.

For years now, and several IE versions, I have used Control + L to
open the Address and search text box. The web address of whatever page
you are on will be in the box by default, and highlighted, so all you
have to do is press Control + C to copy the contents from the edit
box. Then it can be pasted anywhere that you please.

Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] Copy Command Doesn't Work
Let me try to explain this problem another way. When I press either
Alt-D
or F6 in IE 8, the address bar is empty; there is just a blank edit
field.
I must have inadvertently hit some keystroke command such that the
contents
of the address bar are no longer being displayed. How can I fix this
problem so that pressing either Alt-D or F6 once again displays the
contents
of the address bar? I seem to vaguely remember something about the
command
Control-F10 having something to do with placing focus on the contents
of the
address bar, but I'm not really sure.

Gary Ray here.
Hum, when I am on a webpage, if I hit f6, then the address field
tells me
the URL of the page I am on.
Dunno what is causing your issue.
I am on IE 11.

But that's the problem pressing either Alt-D or F6 reveals that the
address
bar is empty. How can I fix this so that pressing either of these
keystrokes displays the contents of the address bar?

I think you should be pressing alt d or the alternative f6 key. Then
you
should be able to copy to clipboard.
The alt a brings up favorites in IE.

I don't understand what's going on, but all of a sudden whenI press
Alt-A
in IE 8 to place the address of a web page into the address bar and
then
press Control-C to copy it to the clipboard, JAWS announces "copy
line"
instead of "copy selected text to clipboard", and I can apparently no
longer copy web addresses to the clipboard. How can I fix this
problem
and restore the normal copy function? Thanks.
