Are you sure it's not worth at least writing a letter back saying that you
have been using JDE prior to their registering of the trademark, and believe
their cease and desist is groundless? You could at least see what they do,
they are not in a strong legal position as far as I know [assuming there's
lots of proof that JDE has been around for a while]...
Also, I notice that their trademark is filed and published for opposition
but has not yet been granted ["registered"] by the USPTO... Perhaps time
for a some opposition via a letter to the USPTO?
You don't necessarily need to put much time or resources into it, depending
on how much they care about you not using it... but I can understand if you
just don't want to deal with it.
