The problem is that when people do searches and stuff, then
JDE will come up equally as JDE for Emacs and JDEdwards
(aren't they the ones who give out awards for best car and
what not)? So, (not to defend them) this is a big deal to
them... On the other hand, look at all the other fights over
names and trademarks that have occurred (GIF image format
comes to mind)...
I think your point on making a stink about this should
warrant some consideration (big companies hate bad press -
and besides, this is not a money making issue - JDE is
free)... Anybody send this to Slashdot yet - the Slashdot
effect is very effective for getting things into newspapers
and what not...
BTW, www.jde.com points to JDEdwards... soooo, it will all
come down to domain name issues again... sigh...
