Registering whatever trademarking is probably a good
idea just to avoid this in the future.
fwiw, trademarking doesn't necessarily require a
lawyer.  At the Patent & Trademark office web site
(helpfully linked by another user) you can do it right
on line; it looked pretty straight forward.  
Of course it will cost a few hundred bucks, but if you
set up a paypal account I bet many people on the list
will chip in a buck or two...

Ironically, I needed to get something from the JDE
website recently, and inadvertently went to
www.jde.com.  There is no possibility of confusing JDE
with their products.
