Conspiracy by Warrap politicians My appreciation to the article by Mr.
Gordon Buay. Warrap state will curse itself. Mr. Gordon Buay, you have
made a very accurate analysis in your article based on statistical
facts we all know. Of course, many of us knew long ago that there has
been a conspiracy by the politicians of Warrap state to dominate the
government by manipulating the formation. Yes, they have proved it in
the announcement of the government but let us wait and see how long it
will take them. Gatkuoth Deng, RSS
South wont tolerate dictatorship again Dear Editor, I appreciate your
style of prescribing the issues of our Nation. I really agreed that
the formation of new cabinet may really reflect the wider support of
members who will or may carry out the duties of the people of Warrap
to defend their interest. The people of the republic of South Sudan
will not tolerate/allow dictatorship again. In Nuer Language there is
a saying that the elder son may enjoy today while the little son may
enjoy most. Today is for Warrap guys and tomorrow the bread will
shifted to another region. Jok, RSS
Time to embrace South Sudan I'd now admit that Pres. Salva Kiir
Mayardit has come to demonstrate his words of running the government
based on qualification not tribe. The president now deserves adulation
for the controversial move in the new government although few people
are expressing parallel opinions, some demand that more should have
been elected from this state, tribe and so on. But that would be our
backwardness if we opt to choose leaders based on who fought the war
and who are majority in South Sudan. Even if South Sudan leaders are
pure Dinka, Nuer, Equatoria, it doesn’t matter to me if the people
could exercise the power according to the moral principles. We have
fought for freedom that any capable person with the qualities of a
leader will have an opportunity of leading South Sudan. Therefore,
ladies and gentleman we should not forget that goal. Let’s stick and
whoever makes mistakes should be corrected. Like now it’s obvious that
Salva Kiir Mayardit is making a great chastening from what was
criticized as government dominated by one ethnic. Now the wolves of
South Sudan peace are ashamed of their previous backlash. South Sudan
is the land you like it, accept it, if you're unsatisfied please
relocated elsewhere. Why should we pretend to be an additional problem
when we have so much to handle on table? It is time to embrace South
Sudan with open arms, ladies and gentlemen. Joseph Lukudu Gumbiri,

Capital city good in Ramciel President Kiir with his people, and with
some Ministers are using money for themselves. That was why he removed
Southern Sudan Capital Rumbek, Ramciel to Juba after death of Dr. John
Garang for them to use money without building Capital City in Rumbek
Ramciel. Now they try to back Capital City to Lake State but they put
in Yirol Ramciel that has problem of Swamps so that Southern Sudan
people to say Yirol Ramciel is swampy for them to back the Capital
City to Juba. They don't want to build Capital in Rumbek Ramciel for
all Southern Sudan. Rumbek Ramciel is a central of Southern Sudan, is
good for Southern States to have Capital City in Rumbek Rmciel for
Southern Sudan. James Maker Akok, Kansas City, USA
Lakes state won't complain on cabinet Mr. Gordon Buay, you've said
your mind regarding new cabinet, but you have underestimated Lakes
state contribution during struggle which today we are just
accommodated in Electricity and Dam, Irrigation and water ministries.
It's true you've dismissed such ministries not to be part of National
Cabinet, but it seems Lakes is in the government. Anyway, people of
Lakes state don't complain not because they are well represented in
this government but simply they are not united like other states. They
don't know how to claim their rights and representation. It seem Kiir
doesn't fear people of Lakes state neither does he really need them in
his government. I don't want to talk on their behalf, but to awake
them, because nobody can breastfeed a child who is not crying. Bul,

When shall we learn to appreciate some things: I'm replying directly
to the article of south Sudan democratic front secretary general in
which he had talked about domination of Kiir in the cabinet. That
statement is perplexing me so much because one could wonder how Kiir
as a national president can dominate the cabinet, if it he's Dinka as
he has put it, the answer is clear, they represent their state. Our
leaders are calling upon abandonment of the tribalism but some
individuals like the secretary general are still holding tight as if
it may take us. What's wrong with appointing of those who have met the
requirements? Bol Mathiang, RSS
It's fair and regional balance. I have no problem with this cabinet
selection at all as it's representing regions not tribe based, but I
have one problem. The size of the cabinet, given the immature time of
large government and event of economic uncertainty of the newly
independent state. The ministers should be limited to affordable and
financially manageable size. It may be good to have many ministers by
the name, that an X is a minister in my region, but it's disastrous
when it comes to development service delivery to the locals. This adds
a burden on financial scarcity, given twenty nine ministers plus
twenty seven deputy ministers.
Also I'd like to point out to those who complain day and night about
tribalism, that they don't have a minister representing their region,
community or tribe, take note that being minister unlike being a
member of parliament, is selected based on individual capacity and
ability to attract a certain portfolio within government. Though
President Kiir makes mistake on some stage, I don't appreciate the
ideas of tribal-based ministerial representation. We'd learn to
distinguish between bad and good, this time it's time to say thank you
to president and say job well done. This time the representation is
fair, balanced and regionally sensitive. Deng Ajakagutkuei, Australia
Swapping a stooge with a fool is no change It is no doubt we are in a
fool's paradise in South Sudan. It is totally hopeless to swap one
stupid person with another. We all thought it is high time Kiir did
things smartly as we have not seen enough that has been done by most
of these guys in their past few years in the cabinet jobs. It's
illiterately stupid to continue to use them. Every leader in th world
measure their ministers based on services provided in the past. How
stupid is it just to continue to swap instead of getting rid of some
of those whose capabilities do not go far enough. The system has
propagated apathy, lies, tribalism, theft, manipulation, and what have
you; it is never going to go away forever. To stop this needs a
generational political change. So stop supporting them. Go against
them instead, they're all similar. Biar, Australia
Three misplaced ministers Dear editor, allow me to congratulate our
president for having formed a representational cabinet and again, I'd
like to name some misplaced ministers in the order below: (1) Gier
Chuang Aluong, (2) Alison Magaya, and (3) Kosti Manibe. It's true that
Magaya and Kosti are academically qualified but I doubt if they'll
manage to take care of money, law and order because they'll be dealing
with hardcore criminals. For Mr. Gier Chuang, he's taken to a place
where he has no experience in engineering, the man is as blank as a
paper. The appointment of the three indicates that there will be no
roads and bridges, lawlessness will be rampant and money will be
stolen in large scale. Deng Deng, RSS.
Kiir wrong in cabinet make-up Kiir had never made a mistake, but this
time round he is totally wrong. Why did he give finance and interior
to none SPLA/M participants as I know the one who'll mess up with
national number plates which is supposed to be unified since he's just
two weeks old in SPLM as he had been enjoying with Khartoum when our
people were struggling for freedom. Finance in this case was supposed
to be given to Lual Achuek Lual, the former IMF employee and what I
know Kiir will face it rough with his NCP-defected members before the
end of 100 days in which he will do the next reshuffling. Gabriel Gai

Blessed to have this un-educated president? Kiir Mayardit has done his
best to evenly share the cake among all regions. Though I am a Dinka,
I am so happy to see that our brothers from Equatoria have not only
ran away with important ministries of Interior and Finance, but also
that among the 29 ministers and deputy ministers 10 are from greater
Equatoria. Even the Nuers who always complain, will find it hard to
remain in defiance, given that their share in the cabinet is more than
they expected. Justice, Defense, Energy and mining are among the six
key ministries in the country. President Kiir had not hesitated to
give these three key ministries to the Nuers. Now, what next? Can we
just sit down and watch these changes of event!!! Perhaps we are
blessed to have this un-educated president who could listen to all
advice. His Dinka people may complain...but their numbers in the
government is enough to keep them silent. Even the Bor Dinka, who seem
to have been marginalized by the main-stream Dinka should wait. Peter

Good Job, Mr. president Well done by president for the first time.
First of all I would like to thank the president, Kiir Mayardit, for
the appointment of the misters of government of south Sudan based on
they being southerners not by tribe. I believe that this government
will bring unity among ourselves. And now it's time to work not to
talk, and we will see who isn't able to do his or her job Thank you,
God bless you and God bless south Sudan. Mayuai Tual, U S A .
Appreciation to Wani Galaremo, Brother, thanks for injecting some
humor into these serious discussions about South Sudan. You're a true
son of Equatoria. May God bless you and bless Greater Equatoria. Rina

Kiir Government needs serious adjustment Kiir totally needs a lot of
seriousness and he'd forget all the tribal deeds people are doing and
himself involved. If he is totally free, then a lot of things
shouldn't have taken place. Keat Bayak, RSS
Deliberate delay of new government Joana Adams, I'm really moved by
your two articles of yesterday and today, they are really pointing
into many SPLM daily contradictions. The 2008 Sudanese scenes was
claiming that the total population of south Sudanese was approximately
8 million. A country of such population or 10 million, is it logical
to have this big number of cabinet? What is known is that Mr.
president is making all this expansion in the number of the ministries
is only for political accommodation. But what is disturbing me is the
president deliberate delaying of the formation of the new government,
there is something fishy about it. By prolonging the formation of the
new government Kiir and his group are preparing the citizen for
unexpected, but by prolonging they will not escape the proportional
reaction from the southern Sudanese. Pitya lo Tongun, RSS
Luk Kuth Dak is one-eyed man in South Sudan I am a Dinka, but just
from the name Dinka a bell rings in the minds of some Nuer individuals
reading this piece that this is enemy talking. The same applies in
reverse to Dinkas. But to me that does not matter much when it comes
to pointing out and appreciating someone for being uniquely smart,
clever, and patriotic. There are hardly people with Luk Kuth Dak's
character now in South Sudan including me. I know to how to analyze
and pick someone really smart based on character and trait, but even
better at criticizing and hating someone because they're not from my
ethnicity. But I am not the only one, we all know how to do that, some
of us may even be deadly worse than me. And emulating smart and clever
people like Luk, and applying their same nature to ourselves, to
suppress our ill intentions of each other, is the greatest challenge
for us all. You would argue this but it is true. Mind, Luk has an
ethnicity and he can hate, but lets ask ourselves, why is he the only
one with that binding character of smartness, cleverness, and
patriotisms in his writings all times? This is because during the war
when every one became sick in the head he was the only one not
affected, and therefore a one eyed man among us the blind. Biar,
Australia
Luk Dak's selfish interests Reference to Luk Dak's comment about the
Nuer intellectuals silence on issues pertaining political debate in
the new Republic of South Sudan, I am wondering whether his comments
were intended to advice Nuer intellectuals to conform to his reasoning
or is he trying to belittle them, in this case the Nuer intellectual
silent majority? My personal view on his comments about Nuer
intellectuals silent majority is that if this brother intentions were
to advice Nuer, than he may have chosen a wrong approach to make his
argument. Else, he needs to learn how to attract those intellectuals
to his side of reasoning rather than inflicting insult on them. I am
sure the former anchor is trying to depict all the Nuer as illiterate
with the exception himself and his likes. Moreover, mentioning a
leader such as Latjor Ding Yen is an illustration of how poor our
former anchor is misinforming his audience, he needs to learn some
facts about Nuer. Latjor did not establish his leadership through
mistreating minorities around his vast region, which extends far
beyond the Southern Sudanese territory, else there will be no other
ethnic groups or people left in Southern blue Nile today. Nuer are
historically well known for their generosity and respect. Nuer loves
for neighbors is a well documented fact that many scholars can attest
to, in particular Nuer feels abnormal when a guest complained about
any missing services, Nuer in general value humanity, they I mean the
Nuer only react when legitimate grievances are ignored either
intentionally or unintentionally. As a Nuer, I tend to be silent
because the debate we have today in Southern Sudan does not reflect on
the sacrifices we have all endured, the debate we have is centered
around individual benefits rather than collective benefits. The fact
that your narrative support only one side and blames the other is a
testament for your selfish interest and speaks to the individual
benefits I have mentioned above. Southern Sudan is a country for all
of us. This Nation is not a tribal property and her leaders should not
be portrayed as belonging to tribe this or tribe that. We have all
suffered to achieve independence, Salva Kiir did not ascend to power
because he is a Dinka, but because he was voted into the office by
overwhelming majority of Southerners. If your intention is to
encourage positive debate on how our Nation is to be run, please
refrain from this kind of narrative. This policies of divide and rule
are the reasons why Southerners did not celebrated the old Sudan
Independence in 1956, but left to Torit jungle. Anthony Yak, USA
