Deploying troops to Somali is premature Dear editor, allow me to
express myself about the news that I have heard on BBC World service
radio: That South Sudan has offered to send African Union troops to
Somalia to back the weak interim government, said by Deng Alor Kuol,
the South Sudan’s foreign affairs minister. Surely my fellow citizens,
how can our leaders force our men in uniform to throw themselves into
the ocean to help the drowned groups meanwhile they don’t even know
how to swim? Moreover, you cannot help somebody when you are not even
capable of helping yourself. Also something our government needs to
consider is that we are still having unsolved items e.g. borders
issue. I think this is a pre-mature idea by our new born Country’s
leadership. South Sudan is still young. She needs to go under process
to meet the requirement standard. Otherwise our leaders need to
refrain from that move because it’s too early for South Sudan to do
that. Dominic Dut, South Sudan
Controversial Youth Unions With recent formation of south Sudan youth
union by caretaker minister of youth and sports, it is widely
contradicting and bias of tribalism by his hand picking of his
tribes-mate as president of the newly-found Youth Union. I wonder
whether Honorable minister knows the implication he has put himself
in. First of all if minister is an SPLM member then he'd know that we
have in SPLM THE YOUTH LEAGUE headed by elected body, Akol as
president and there was no need for newly formed Youth Union. We
should think of forming non-political institutions rather than
political ones which create rivalry and promote tribalism. Victor
