To be honest, I doubt it matters too much. If you know which category is correct, then select it. If not, take an educated guess. My experience in the software industry leads me to think: 1. an incorrectly-categorized bug report is better than no bug report 2. an incorrectly-categorized bug will be corrected by someone If a software developer has a bug assigned to him (or to his area of responsibility), he'll want to clear it. That means either fixing it, or swiftly passing it on to someone else!
