Right, so long as you can place the TM751 close enough to receive the CM17A's RF signals. > One other question: does your BottleRocket plugin include the ability to > send different X10 signals depending on which Squeezebox has been > switched on? Yes, the X10 (or Insteon) code for each player is configured separately, and you do not need to configure a code for every player. I've had a mix of players with X10, a player with IR Blaster, and players with no power sync. Works fine. > One downside is that all these cheap X10 devices on eBay are for US > mains. The UK devices are significantly more expensive (eg. a TM13U, > which looks to be equivalent to the TM751, is about £20 ($40) plus > S+H). The last PowerSwitchII circuit I built cost under $10 in parts. More research for you: I understand that the RF frequency used by the CM17A Firecracker may be US-only. So you might need a different X10 computer interface device. I've looked a bit more at using 'heyu' to use a CM11 powerline controller (which wouldn't need a RF receiver like the TM751, but merely regular powerline appliance modules). For Linux it should be fine, but 'heyu' might need a little work on my part to run in Windows. bonze -- can you measure the power draw of your amp when it's on but getting no, or low, audio signals? If it only draws a few watts or less when "idle", I don't think I'd worry about trying to switch it off. Why bother with configuring the plugin, buying the gear, and hearing the relay click and, depending on your amp, speaker thump if you're not saving much energy?
