Well, I figured out on my Mac how to go back to Java 1.4 using Java
Preferences App, but oddly enough on my machine I can't get it to use Java
1.6 even though it is at the top of the preferences list (Jmol still reports
Java 1.4 or 1.5) so I can't get this problem on my own machine. Also, oddly
enough, I can't find the cached files -- they are not within the directory
structure that Java Preferences says they are in, and yet they are obviously
cached -- they couldn't load that fast if they were not. So I don't know
exactly what that is all about.
Java 1.4 Firefox 3.6.8/Mac -- GOOD (Bob)
Java 1.5 Firefox 3.5.7/Mac -- GOOD (Bob)
Java 1.5 Firefox 3.6.8/Mac -- GOOD (Bob)
Java 1.6 Firefox 3.5.7/Mac -- ????
Java 1.6 Firefox 3.6.8/Mac -- BAD (Phil, Jay, Nick, Jeff, Paul?)
Java 1.6 Firefox 4.0beta/Mac -- GOOD (Jay)
Phil, Jay, Nick, Jeff, or Paul -- could you verify that you have the same
problem at

by doing all the same but clicking on the "load 1crn" link in Topic #175.
