I'm have a real interest in what you're doing, so I'm happy to look at this.

I'm a Mac user, and because of MSIE sluggishness with JSmol I've pretty
much ignored it. I decide to test one of my apps on my wife's Windows
computer under MSIE (11.0.SOMETHING). I was pleasantly surprised that
double clicking without the terminal start gave me an option to OK the
local files - clicked OK and I was good to go.

My single package JSmol app worked, but model movement was slow as usual on
MSIE. I'll take a look at your package. Thanks for providing the link.

I did notice that Microsoft is writing a browser from the ground up that
will replace MSIE - fill in sarcastic comment re about time here.

I think ./ as opposed to the explicit directory is going to be very
platform dependent for local running. On my Mac ./ will not run on a local
run.
