shiro (しろ, 城) = castle

josai (じょうさい, 城砦) = fortress

If you'd like to investigate Japanese names further, here are some more:

kanjo = defending soldier
gajo = stronghold, inner citadel, bastion
ki = fortress (surrounded by a moat)
kyojo = castle of a feudal lord
kinjo = impregnable castle
