Microsoft didn't achieve dominance by writing *GOOD* software. Why

Bingo.
At this point, I no longer feel the need to rant about Microsoft.
We have viable alternatives almost everywhere. Firefox replaces IE.
OpenOffice is finally good enough to replace Office. Thunderbird is a
decent mail client. etc.
No, we cannot please the "But it's not Microsoft!" crowd. However,
almost everybody who isn't sucking the Microsoft teat can be
accommodated (graphic artists being the notable exception).
That's all I ask. Now, the market will slowly begin wiping Microsoft out.
