Thank you, Karen. I will have her check under poodles too. She searched for weeks to find the perfect puppy. Oh Kali, I'm so sorry for your daughter and her family's loss.  I have crated my dog for the last 14 months with a flat cloth collar and never even thought there might be inherent danger in that. In addition to checking with breeders for a new puppy, your daughter might want to check out Petfinder.com in the poodle section.  They frequently have doodles listed as a poodle mix and there are often puppies being offered for adoption.  Lots of folks get labradoodles as a first time pet because it's novel or they're allergic and then find that they can't deal with the energy level.  Much luck to all of you and thanks for the information.
