Title: Re: [labradoodles] My Daughter lost her labradoodle today/ Kali.
Taffy didn't have a choke collar on, it was a nylon collar. Kim did a lot of research on caring for the puppy and it was only the 4th time Taffy was in the crate.

I am so very sorry for your loss.  What a devastatingly sad event for all of you.  Please know that Taffy is romping most happily and freely at the rainbow bridge.  I have attached a copy if you are not familiar with the rainbow bridge.

For future reference to all dog owners:

PLEASE DO YOUR HOMEWORK BEFORE GETTING A DOG.  NO MATTER HOW MUCH YOU LOVE THEM AND HOW GOOD YOUR INTENTIONS MAY BE, IT'S NOT ENOUGH IF YOU HAVE NOT RESEARCHED THE PROPER CARE AND PRECAUTIONS OF HAVING A PET.

Never ever leave a dog with a choak style color without supervision.  They can so easily get hooked on anything in a car, crate, or backyard, or even a drawer pull inside your home.  If they are securely and safely quartered, there is no need for them to have this type of collar, especially if they are in a crate.  For the yard, car and inside the home, look for a collar that cannot get caught, or perhaps an easy release closure collar could be used.  And please, please, please do not let a dog ride in the back of a pick up truck unless on a very short lead attached to the cab section of the vehicle.  I know of more than one dog who strangled himself by trying to jump out of the truck and his lead and collar left him to dangle to death.  Sorry for the horrible visual that brings to mind, but PLEASE THINK OF YOUR PETS AS YOU WOULD YOUR HUMAN CHILDREN AND DON'T LEAVE THEM IN ANY SITUATION THAT YOU WOULDN'T LEAVE YOUR CHILD IN.  Don't leave them to roast in a car or out in the open where someone could harm them or they could harm themselves.  And any time you cannot be supervising them, make sure they can't get into anything potentially dangerous.

Off my soapbox, for now...

Most sincerely saddened,

Adrienne and Scout
