hip x-rays are important to me.  I bought 3 lab sisters - both their parents had been tested ofa good.   I raised those three to 26 months before getting them tested prior to breeding. here is the shocker - they all flunked.  if I had bred them based on the background only who knows what they may have passed on. those three were raised in a yard not on concrete ever so what happened?  I will never know of course but they are spayed in pet homes now. breeding can be frustrating for sure.
