I usually open the program using the icon on the task bar on the bottom of the screen. I have set the options multiple times to always use the "family" file, but when I go to use the program again, using the task bar icon, it opens whatever file I might have opened last... even though I have not done anything to change the option to open the "family" file. When I check the options again, that option is no longer ticked and it's set to open the last opened file.
"Family" is the main file that I work with, but I also have a working file that deals with people in the area where we live - when you work on family trees, it's amazing how often you find out you are related to someone else in the area. It is full of obituaries, birth and wedding announcements from our local paper. My husband's family has lived in this area for over 100 years. When I find another connection, I move them over to my main file. I usually work on the location related file about once a week. It's easy enough to open whichever file I want to work on so it isn't an issue but I was surprised when this seemed to change in the recent past which is why I was checking with the list to see if anyone else saw it.
